Music Council 2024-2025

Music Council is a club of student leaders that work with the program directors and staff to further the goals and interests of the Buena Park Middle School music program through service.

Council members:

are dedicated to and excited about the growth and success of the music program as a whole and believe that they can contribute to this success through service and commitment.
will consistently show other members of the music program what it means to be an exemplary music student through their actions and attitudes.
will meet weekly to discuss goals for the program and progress towards these goals.

Mikaela Estrada-Hartmann

President

My name is Mikaela Estrada-Hartman and I've played violin in the Orchestra for three years and tenor drum in Indoor Percussion for a year and a half. In addition to serving as President of the Music Council, I am the orchestra's concertmaster and the battery captain for Indoor Percussion. My favorite music genres are indie rock, hip-hop, R&B, jazz, rock, and classical. My favorite quote, which I say at least once an hour, is: "You'll live."

Holly Hartman

Hi, my name is Holly Hartman! I'm in eighth grade, and I've been in choir for three years and joined Indoor Percussion this year as a cymbal player and visual soloist. My favorite song is Versace on the Floor by Bruno Mars. Being in music classes has truly healed my soul.

Hello! My name is Ainie Chau. This is my second year as a percussionist in Symphonic Band and Indoor Percussion. My main instrument is the marimba in the front ensemble. My favorite song is See You Soon by Beabadoobee! I love music because it brings me joy when I'm with my friends and classmates.

Hi, I'm Emily Linares. I've played baritone in Symphonic Band for one year and this is my first year in Indoor Percussion as a cymbal player. My favorite artist is Deftones.

Hi, my name is Cassie Alba! This is my second year playing percussion in Symphonic Band and marimba in Indoor Percussion. I also play viola in my free time and I serve as one of the pit captains for Indoor Percussion. My favorite artist is Laufey. I love music because playing instruments is so much fun!

Mischka Ocampo

Hi, my name is Mischka Ocampo. I've been in Symphonic Band and Indoor Percussion for about a year and a half, and this year I play marimba and concert percussion. In addition to being the Percussion Ensemble Representative, I also serve as percussion section leader and pit captain. One of my favorite artists is Stray Kids. I love our music program and I hope we have a great year!
